New York Marathon
Laugh to Cure MND - New York Marathon
Story
On 2 Novemeber, Andy Gowers, Sam Woolcock (Angie Cunningham's brother), Matt Kirwan-Hamilton, Kris Court, Ben Grodski & Matt Unsworth all completed the New York Marathon raising much needed funds for cutting edge research into Motor Neurone Disease. A disease with known cause or cure and an average life expectancy of 2-3 years. Andy's sister-in-law Angie Cunningham has MND.
Angie and her husband Pat set up Laugh to Cure MND in January and to date have raised over $390,000. Andy, Sam, Courty, Hyphen, Ben & Matt will be pounding the pavements of the 5 boroughs of New York with every step hoping to be a step closer to a cure for MND.
Thier preparation has not been without incident. Andy has a torn ligament in his knee, Matt Unsworth tore his calf playing footy, Ben also 'tweaked' his calf but that hasn't deterred these lads from committing to punching out 42 kms on Sunday November 2nd in New York.
All funds raised are vested with the Motor Neurone Disease Research Institute of Australia who annually commission some of the world's leading neurological researchers to try find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease. Every research project financed by the MNDRIA has been scrutinised and endorsed by a committee of experts to ensure that our supporters’ donations fund only the best research.

Donations go directly to the Motor Neurone Disease Research Institute of Australia which has current registration to operate as a Health Promotion Charity and has been endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient by the ATO since 01 July 2000. For Australian Tax purposes all donations over $2 are deductable. Not deductable in US. Please check with local tax authorities in other countries.
